Q: MacBook 12" retina screen coating issue
Hi Guys,
Recently I noticed that the my MacBook 12" retina screen coating has an issue. It seems that there is an inprint of the track pad on the screen. At first I thought it might just be a stains mark or something. But on closer look, there is a slight coating issue from the retina screen which I believe from the track pad area in contact with the screen and causes the markings. I do not have any screen protector or installed any keyboard protector from day one of my purchased. I'm using Skinny Sleeve MacBook 12" and always careful with my beloved MacBook.
I did a search and there is a similar issues for the MacBook Pro 13" retina which several users had it too. I don't have a photo to show you guys of what it looks like on my screen and its only the beginning stage. I believe there are other users who had the same markings on their screen that they are not aware off. I've send my MacBook to the local Apple service provider QCD Technology Pte Ltd here in Singapore and they told me its not "functional issue" and can't get it replace . I then ask the guy on the phone who call me up and told him "How about quality issue? which is similar with the MacBook Pro 13" retina screen?". He just told me to come and collect the MacBook.
I went back again and after some exchanges, they willing to take in the MacBook again and escalate it to Apple directly. I'm waiting now for Apple respond on the issue. Come on Apple, you can do better than this. I'm not trying to make things difficult for the repair centre. The MacBook is still within warranty and I expected the screen to atleast in good condition within that period. My other 2 MacBook Pro 13" Retina belongs to my daughter has no similar issue.
