bootcamp

I have been trying to get bootcamp to run on my mac. I have downloaded Windows 10. Then on Boot Camp Assistant I have "Download[ed] the latest Windows Support System from Apple." Now I'm trying to get it to run and cannot figure it out.

I have a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.9.5 (2.9 GHz Intel Core i7 so I downloaded the 64 bit Microsoft). My external harddrive has been reformatted (it is now "wininstall") and I have moved the Boot Camp folder onto the drive.

I am now trying to get it to actually run but when i click on the setup folder (within the Bootcamp folder) it says "You cannot open the application "setup.exe because Microsoft Windows applications are not supported by OS X" and when I click on the Windows 10 folder it just opens to a series of folders that I'm not sure what to do with.

I opened "Startup Disk" and Microsoft is not there, so there must be another step in the downloading process that I need to do.

please help me
