How do you download a podcast to your idpod

I have a Dell Laptop with Windows 7. Which version of itunes works best and how to I transfer a pod cast to my idpod?

iPod shuffle, Windows 7

Same way you put anything else on your ipod.

Open iTunes, connect iPod, select what you want, sync.

To expand on roaminggnome's advice...

Turn on the tick in the box (3.) and then click on the Apply button (4.) It will change from Sync to Apply when there is something to apply.

By the way, the latest version of iTunes is okay. Today, that's iTunes 12.3.2
