Q: Can't access files on CIFS mount

We're experiencing a very strange issue trying to access files on a CIFS mount from OS X 10.9.5.  This all worked fine until a dew days ago, and we don't know what has changed.  We have a variety of build servers running various versions of OS X.  On our 10.8 servers everything is working as expected:

hepdswbldosx108a:~ epdbuild$ mount | grep softlib

//epdbuild@solid/softlib on /Volumes/softlib (smbfs, nodev, nosuid, mounted by epdbuild)

hepdswbldosx108a:~ epdbuild$ ls -l /Volumes/softlib/verisoft-dev/Stockholm/Continuous/Integration

total 64

drwx------  1 epdbuild  staff  16384 Feb  5 14:36 2016-02-05_1436

drwx------  1 epdbuild  staff  16384 Feb  5 14:36 latest

hepdswbldosx108a:~ epdbuild$ ls -l /Volumes/softlib/verisoft-dev/Stockholm/Continuous/Integration/2016-02-05_1436

total 8848

-rwx------  1 epdbuild  staff     1348 Feb  5 14:36 Properties_966323.txt

-rwx------  1 epdbuild  staff    57066 Feb  5 14:36 Release_notes_11.51.0.13299.1628076.txt

-rwx------  1 epdbuild  staff  4446497 Feb  5 14:36 Stockholm_11.51.0.13299.1628076.zip

-rwx------  1 epdbuild  staff    13176 Feb  5 14:36 faq.html

-rwx------  1 epdbuild  staff      498 Feb  5 14:36 index_test.xml

However, on our 10.9 build servers, were the mount is identical to the one on 10.8, we can see the parent directory, but not the files in it:

hepdswbldosx109a:~ epdbuild$  mount | grep softlib

//epdbuild@solid/softlib on /Volumes/softlib (smbfs, nodev, nosuid, mounted by epdbuild)

hepdswbldosx109a:~ epdbuild$ ls -l /Volumes/softlib/verisoft-dev/Stockholm/Continuous/Integration

total 64

drwx------  1 epdbuild  staff  16384 Feb  5 14:36 2016-02-05_1436

drwx------  1 epdbuild  staff  16384 Feb  5 14:36 latest

hepdswbldosx109a:~ epdbuild$ ls -l /Volumes/softlib/verisoft-dev/Stockholm/Continuous/Integration/2016-02-05_1436

hepdswbldosx109a:~ epdbuild$
