WiFi Problem Macbook Pro Motorola SBG6580
I am having wifi issues with my macbook pro while connected to my wireless network (motorola sbg6580 cable modem/router). I have seen a few posts about this subject, but none of the solutions I have found have worked for me, and none of the situations people have described have been quite the same as mine. The wifi connection on my macbook "drops" frequently. Sometimes once an hour, sometimes every 20 minutes. By this I mean I will be browsing and click a link, and the loading bar in safari moves about an inch and hangs, or I will be watching youtube, netflix, hbo, etc. and the video will stop loading. When this happens, my wifi signal indicator in my menu bar stays at full (doesn't go "empty") and doesn't indicate that I have no network connection. If I turn off my wifi and immediately turn it back on, it works again for a little while. When my connection "drops" ALL of my other devices connected to my wifi still work, I have a smart TV, PS4, iMac, iPad, and iPhone and have tested them all. This problem is exclusive to my macbook pro. If I reset my router, my wifi seems to work fine for about a day before it starts acting up again. Has anyone else out there had this problem and have a solution for it? I have been on the phone with apple twice AND the modem manufacturer and they tend to blame each other for the problem. I have a 2015 13" macbook pro retina display, OS X 10.11.2, Comcast internet service with a Motorola SBG6580 all in one modem/router. This problem is also exclusive to my apartment it seems, I've tried my laptop elsewhere and it works fine.
MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch,Early 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11.2)
