Q: i have my new apple id but i have an old icloud id on my iphone and cannot get past it

i have an iphone 6 and when i try to go into my icloud, it does not allow me because i have and old email and i do not know the password.

iPhone 6, iOS 9.2.1

The article Jon2713 provided above will solve your issue if the old iCloud email was your own.

Was it? Or do you have a second-hand iPhone which is locked to someone else's Apple ID? If so, your iPhone is Activation Locked:
Find My iPhone Activation Lock - Apple Support

If your iPhone is Activation Locked, you will need to contact the original owner and have that person unlock the iPhone or the iPhone will forever remain useless to you.
