Q: Connecting a Canon wireless printer to a Macbook Pro

I am trying to connect a wireless printer to my Macbook Pro.  I have 2 different ones and they both are saying the same - The printer is not connected

One is a Canon ImageCLASS LBP6030(cannot connect to iPhone or MacBook) and the other is a Canon MG5520 ( I can print to this from my iPhone)

Both printers are showing in the cart as connected but neither will print. 
I have updated the firm/software on both printers.

Any suggestions and/or advice will be greatly appreciated!
