If your Apple TV 3 is not waking from sleep properly, here are a few troubleshooting steps to address the issue:
- Change the sleep setting so that it doesn't go to sleep as often
- Try downloading the free Remote app to see if the issue is with your physical remote.
- Restore your Apple TV 3 to factory settings.
Get help with your Apple Remote

When you click a button on your Apple Remote, a light on the front of your Apple TV usually flashes. Get help based on the pattern of the flashing light, or if your Apple TV doesn't flash at all.
