NVIDIA GeFORCE 9400M drivers / OpenCL Error

Hello,

I've starting getting the following error

OpenCL program build log: -D LOCAL_SIZE_X=8 -D LOCAL_SIZE_Y=8 -D SPLIT_STAGE=1 -D N_STAGES=20 -D MAX_FACES=10000 -D LBP

ptxas application ptx input, line 637; error : Instruction '{atom, red}.shared' requires .target sm_12 or higher

ptxas application ptx input, line 884; error : Instruction '{atom, red}.shared' requires .target sm_12 or higher

ptxas fatal : Ptx assembly aborted due to errors

when launching an openCV/OpenGL application of mine (which used to be OK and running without any errors) and It was suggested that I double check that my nvidia drivers are not corrupted as this appears to be a GPU related issue.

How can I check the integrity and maybe re-install those drivers?

(Mac Os X 10.11.3, MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2009))

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)

one specific app or many?

the drivers for 10.11.3 on that model mac should be bundled with 10.11.3 install.

if you are using the nvidia drivers directly from theNvidia sitebe aware these were developed for OS X 10.10 and some of the framework may have changed, also they're not for your card.

You can perform a Hardware test if you have the diagnostic disk that came with your mac and boot from it. If you don't have that available you may be able to roll back to a previous instance of an OS though Time Machine (provided you made one) and can check integrity of the GPU in a previous instance of the OS. Otherwise if you have a Window or Unix partition you can boot to that (I would avoid virtualizing and going direct boot) and update the drivers through the nvidia site for your non Mac OS test from there.

It's a program I'm developing myself - it used to work with no warnings or errors beforehand. I'm using C++14 and a number of libraries/frameworks the most relevant of which are glfw (an openGL wrapper) and openCV. In both cases I'm using the latest developer versions, so I do suspect that there might some bug in the latest version of one of those frameworks that causes this behaviour. I can't be sure because I don't really understand what this error is about - I've been told that it's related to my GPU drivers so I'm trying to exclude this possibility first. I'll also try to link against older versions of the frameworks I use to see if that would make any difference.
