Cant connect my new epson XP-220 printer to my macbook pro using wifi

Just bought an Epson XP-220 wireless printer for my new 15" macbook pro, had to use the web installer for first time setup, everything is fine until i have to connect via wifi, a window will pop up telling me that wifi connection interrupted, do i need to connect with a usb cord first and then setup wifi, not sure what im doing wrong, any help on this will be greatly appreciated
