Lightning to 30-pin Adapter: will it work on Sony Clock radio?

My 4th gen iPod touch's battery is all but dead. It can't hold a charge for very long. It's too bad I can't replace the battery.

My only option is to get a new one, I suppose or keep it connected to my Sony Clock Radio until the battery is so bad that it can't even work with it plugged in.

I went to the Apple Genius store and none of the children there could tell me if the lightening adapter would work in playing audio when connected. There is a disclaimer on Apple's website that not all 30 pin connection devices will work with the adapter. The other concern is that one of the Apps is made by Sony and that allows me to control the clock radio's settings as well.

Does anyone know if the Lightning to 30-pin Adapter will in fact work on these clock radios?

Some docks work with the adopter and some do not.

Have you went to Sony's support site?

The ICFC05IPBLK is Compatible with iPod ® touch, iPod Nano 3rd generation, iPod classic, iPod Nano 2nd generation, iPod 5th generation, iPod Nano 1st generation and 5th generation, iPod 4th generation, iPod mini. Regarding connections using the Apple Lightning to 30-pin Adapter / Lightning to 30-pin Adapter (0.2m): Due to the instability of connecting iPod and iPhone models to our speaker system using the Apple Lightning to 30-pin Adapter / Lightning to 30-pin Adapter (0.2m), there is a possibility that the one or both dock connectors may be damaged. Sony does not recommend using Apple Lightning to 30-pin Adapter / Lightning to 30-pin Adapter (0.2m) with the Sony speaker docks with 30-pin connecter.

Based on the above it appears the adopter functionally works but the shot adopter will place stress on the conn3ctors and damage it.

There is an adopter with a cable and that should work and avoid such damage but the iPod will be on the table vice on the radio
