Q: My phone seems to use storage without me adding anything. I can delete hundreds of photos and make available several hundred MB of space, and look a while later and I'll have little or no available storage without having used any. Why?!

Why does my storage decrease without me doing anything to use available space? I'll delete an app or 2, a hundred pics, or several videos, and check and see that I have several hundred MB available. Then if I check just a while later, I will have little or no space available. And I'm not doing anything obvious to use the space like taking pics or downloading apps. Anyone know why it's doing that? I keep my phone almost full and I was wondering if that's the problem.I have a 32 GB 5S phone and currently have 500 KB available!

    Hello ashleys7786,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

To better help determine what could be taking up the space of your iPhone, please follow through the steps below to manage your storage:

Use your iOS device to check its storage

Tap Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage > Manage Storage.

You'll see a list of your apps, and how much storage each one uses. Tap an app for more detailed information about its usage.

Depending on the app, you might be able to delete some of its content, or delete the app and all of its content. If your device is almost full, or you get a Storage Almost Full alert, remove some less-used content.

Check your storage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

    Take care.
