For fractions, go to the gear wheel in Character Viewer, then Customize, and check the box for All Digits.

The link I gave you says: "When you find the character you want, double-click it to insert it in your text."
Drag/drop usually works too.

Or use the text substitutions that are available via Keyboard preferences Text settings.
Or maybe System Preferences > Keyboard > Input Sources > + to add a keyboard > Other > Unicode Hex Input.
