Feb 18, 2016 8:22 AM in response to org.laiby Phil0124,Apple will not replace it. It is a user caused issue.
You have 2 choices:
1. Set it to DFU mode and restore it to factory condition. It may take several hours to restore. Even if the progress bar shows no movement.
If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
2. Take it to an Apple Store, and have them restore it. They will not replace it.
Either way, make sure you have a backup. otherwise you will loose all contents on the iPhone.
Next time don't believe everything you read or hear on the internet.

Feb 18, 2016 8:21 AM in response to org.laiby gail from maine,No they do not replace it.They fix it. If they were not able to fix it, then they still would not replace it. The issue was not caused by Apple.

Feb 18, 2016 8:27 AM in response to Phil0124by gail from maine,An update on the Apple fix. Apparently they are able to fix it with a battery removal, and several posters have posted back indicating that they lost no data. Since I have not personally experienced the need to have something like this done on a phone I own, not sure, but thought I'd give you a heads-up

Thanks for the heads up Gail. Good to know.
As to a replacement, that is very unlikely. The can fix it after all. so replacement seems unnecessary, when a restore or battery removal, may be all that is required.
