1970 RETRO BUG?!

So, I was stupid enough to fall of the retro bug. And now my iPhone 5s is bricked. I thought there wasn't going to be a way to fix them so I went and got the iPhone 6. But it now turns out that Apple can fix this, or at least that is what I have been told. Can they fix the phones? I don't have apple cover. So if I make an appointment with them, will they charge me to fix my 5s? If it will cost me, how much will it be? 😟

Thanks, Alex.

Apple will fix the bug in a future update.

In the meantime you can restore from DFU Mode:

DFU Mode:

  • Plug your device into your computer.
  • Turn off the device.
  • Hold the Power button for 3 seconds
  • Hold the Home button without releasing the Power button for 10 seconds
  • Release the Power Button but keep holding the Home button
  • Keep holding the Home button until you are alerted by iTunes saying that it has detected a device in Recovery Mode

NOTE: The Timing is critical and it may take you a few attempts to get it.

Make sure the device screen is blank and no logos are present.

If you see the iTunes logo, it did not work and you will need to try again.
