Q: iTunes for Windows 10 Solution

I found "a" possible solution:

Go to www.7-zip.org

Download the 7-zip installeren that fits your system and operating system

Execute the 7-zip installer.

when it is finished, start the 7-zip Program.

it will provide you with a sort of file manager.

Navigate to the iTunes installation .exe and click On it, then select unpack form the menu.

it should then unpack all the .msi files for you.

you can than install the individual .msi files.

1. Download the installer for ITunes

2. unpack the exe file (which is actually a compressed file) with something like 7-zip (free download)

3. individually (right-click on .msi file and select install) install all packages except the apple software updater (this is the one giving the issue)

If you repair your current instance of Apple Software Update from the programs and features control panel you should find the next update goes through smoothly.

I don't know if you completely read my post.  I am not asking for help I am giving a solution for the WINDOWS 10 Users that are having ISSUES with the installation.  And that part you mention is the one that is preventing or si the part that is giving trouble to users.

Yes, I read your post which is why I didn't offer a more general solution such as this one Re: can't update iTunes on windows. Yours is an ideal approach when ASU cannot be repaired or removed, and is covered in my user tip under the heading install missing components. The Microsoft program install and uninstall utility mentioned in note 1 to the second box may be able to remove a broken ASU component if it won't repair.
