Q: Do you have to pay again for in-app purchases on separate devices?

I got a game on my Mac and to get the full version it costs $19.99. I didn't want to do this, so I went to see if I could get it cheeper on my phone or iPad.

It was way cheeper on my phone and only costs $4.99. I haven't purchased it yet, because I wanted to know if I would have to pay for both (since I only want to buy the cheeper one).

Would I have to pay more because the one on my Mac is more expensive? I really like the game and I'd like the full version.

You have to pay again for iOS and Mac apps and in-app purchases. They are not redownloadable for free between Macs and iOS devices.

For some in-app purchases on same OS they are redownoadable. See:

Mac apps and iOS apps (and their App Stores) are completely separate - Mac apps won't run on iOS devices and iOS apps won't run on Macs.

If a developer does the same app for both platforms and you want to run both versions then you have to buy it on both the Mac and iOS, If you want to play it on your iOS device then you can buy it in the iOS App Store only, if you want to play it on the Mac only then buy it on the Mac App Store only.
