Q: Thunderbolt Display not available as audio output option after install DisplayLink
I recently installed the DisplayLink driver on my Macbook (2015) so I can use an external monitor made by Asus.
After installing the driver my Thunderbolt displays are no longer available as audio inputs/outputs. The Thunderbolt was receiving a video signal as normal. The first time this happened I uninstalled the DisplayLink driver, restarted my computer and the Thunderbolts were available as audio inputs/outputs again.
I reinstalled the driver and the issue came back, no Thunderbolts displays available as audio inputs/outputs. I uninstalled the driver again and restarted, but now the Thunderbolt displays fail to show as an option for audio inputs/outputs.
The only option for audio is the internal audio.
Is this a known issue with the DisplayLink drivers, and is there a fix to get audio back?
