I understand that you are having issues with Wi-Fi being greyed out on your iPad. Let's go over what your options are.
With your Wi-Fi being greyed out, you have two options to get this working. You start with resetting the network settings by going to Settings > General > Reset and then tap Reset Network Settings. After your iPad restarts, your Wi-Fi should be restored. If it does not, then you will need to contact Apple Support for further assistance.
