Q: Disconnecting Thunderbolt crashes Windows 10 frequently
I am running Windows 10 Pro (version 1511 build 10586.104) on a 2015 MacBook Pro (Core i7-4770HQ @ 2.2GHz, 16GB RAM, Intel Iris Pro Graphics 5200, 256GB SSD). I often connect an LG 34UM95 display via Thunderbolt to my MBP with my USB mouse/keyboard and Apple USB Ethernet adapter connected to the monitor. Disconnecting the Thunderbolt cable from my MBP with the computer still on will frequently cause Windows 10 to crash with a BSOD (blue screen of death). Putting the computer to sleep first normally prevents the crash from happening, but it still seems to happen occasionally.
If I remember correctly, most of the BSODs display an error message noting an unhandled exception in the Apple USB Ethernet driver. Are there any driver/firmware updates or other remedies that will eliminate these crashes when disconnecting the Thunderbolt cable?
