Panoramic photos

Hello!

This is about Photos for Mac.

When I first installed Photos, all my pictures (or almost all...) were copied from iPhoto, including two panoramic photos. They are the only ones in that folder. I have tried to make more panoramic photos with my iPhone 6, and no success! I have gone to PAN, and gone taken pictures of more than 180 degrees width. The photo is quite large, but does not move into the panorama folder.

Can anyone explain this? And hopefully tell me how I can use that folder as it is obviously meant to be used?

I enclose a picture, which is fairly dull, but should be categorized as panoramic.User uploaded file

They are the only ones in that folder.

Do you mean the Panoramas Smart Album in the list of automatically created albums? In my Photos library, all photos that have an extreme aspect ratio - of more than 3 times the width than the height are appearing automatically in this album. Have you tried to take a larger panorama? Nearly 360°?

You're welcome 🙂

While experimenting with the photo that you posted I discovered, that there must be minimal side length for the photo to qualify as panoramic. The extreme aspect ratio of 3.1 is not sufficient. I had to enlarge the phot to make it appear as a panorama. The limit seems to be a minimum of about 2000 pixels in one dimension.
