Q: iOS 9.2.1 How to listen on iPhone imported music

Hi Community ,

it's the first time for me in this Community and I hope my english will let me explain the issue.

The facts

I'm using Apple Music, and in Settings "Apple Music" is enabled and "iCloud Music Library" in enabled.

I bought a CD from a physical store and I imported it in iTunes, via my iMac. iTunes founded the artwork of the album.

The album is available in iTunes Store too, but it is NOT totally available in Apple Music. Only 1 track in available on Apple Music.

Until now everything is ok.

The problem

I can see the album in the Music app, but all the tracks are greyed out, except the only track available in Apple Music and it is not possible to download the songs via iCloud nor it is possibile to force iTunes to add the songs to Music app.

If I click on the cloud icon whit the arrow pointing down (arrow.jpg)I can download only the the song that is not greyed out.

What can I do to obtain all tracks on my iPhone?

Thank you!

    Hi enrico.c,

Thanks for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.

It looks like you've imported a CD to your iTunes library (and iCloud Music Library) but can't download the songs using Apple Music on your iPhone.

First, I'd recommend checking the status of the songs in iTunes using these steps from About iCloud Music Library icons and status:

Turn on icons and status columns

Turn on the iCloud Download and iCloud Status columns to see icons and statuses.

    1. Open iTunes.
    2. If you're not on the My Music tab, click on the Music icon   in the upper-left corner of iTunes, then click on My Music in the top-middle of the screen.
    3. From the menu in the upper-right corner of the screen, select Songs.
    4. In the same menu, click Show Columns.
    5. Make sure that there's a check mark next to iCloud Download and iCloud Status. If there isn't, click iCloud Download or iCloud Status to turn the columns on.
    6. The iCloud Download and iCloud Status columns appear.

The iCloud status of these songs may give us a clue about why they're not available on your iPhone. You can find an explanation for the iCloud statuses at the link I mentioned above.

    Sincerely.

    Thank you jeremy_v,

your analysis was right and you put me in the right direction.

Some notes that could help someone else

When I tried to show the iCloud Status column I didn't find it so I guessed iCloud Music Library on my iMac was turned off. I was guessing right and I turned it on.

So, for other people with this problem it could be the first step to do (turn on iCloud Music Library).

Turning on the iCloud started the match between my library and Apple Music's one.

The matching phase is taking some hours (optical fiber here). Is it normal?

    Thank you!
