I need to remove Adguard.

Hi,

I need to remove Adguard from my iMac, running Yosemite. But every time I tried to put it into trash a pop up message says "The item "Adguard" can't be moved to the Trash because it's open" when actually it is not OPEN. How to remove this?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8), iMac with Windows 7 platform

I am having the same problem. Mostly, I use Chrome and Firefox - rarely use Safari. I have opened 'Tools' in Chrome and 'Add-Ons' in Firefox but I dont see Adguard in either place. When I open Safari it isnt there.
annoying as Adguard asks me to update it often AND I would simply like to not have it monitoring my activity.

Any tips?

Adguard Uninstall

If that doesn't work, try running this program in your normal account , then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. On the screen with Options, please open Options and check the bottom 2 boxes before running. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy Report” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.

Yeah, but they don't say to remove the Adguard certificate from osx Keychain Access and from browsers root certificate like Firefox and Chrome even if it's a core element of their software.

Ad Guard is a russian company. After revelations about the involvement of kapersky in the spying activities of the russian gov, this omission seems to me suspicious. You would believe they don't want you to remove the certificate which is used to subvert all other certificates on the system to monitor https connection.

Get a complete system backup, before proceeding. This might be your path back, if something goes wrong.

Best to ask Adguard directly — they don't seem to have removal documentation posted.

But you can try — once you have a backup — dragging the app somewhere other than the trashcan, like to your Desktop, reboot your system, and then try deleting it again.

Hi, I just managed to uninstall Adguard and was having the same problem as you. You have to open Safari, then from the "Safari"menu, click on the dropdown list "Preferences", then a new window will open and from the top menu icons, select "Extensions", then you should see the Adguard app icon appear in the window, and you will see a button where you can click to "uninstall". Then that's it!

I need to remove Adguard.
