Q: iMovie won't find pictures after OS X El Capitan upgrade

I just upgraded to OS X El Capitan and when I went to look at previous projects I created in iMovie, the program can't seem to find the photos that I inserted in the project. When it comes to the photo there is only a black screen,

I used Aperture and reloaded that and of course you have the new Photos program that has the pictures in it also.

Can anyone tell me how I can get iMovie to find the pictures that were inserted in projects?

Only iMovie 10.1.1 handles photos properly when running El Capitan. Which version are you using?

I'm afraid you're out of luck. Older versions of iMovie assumed photos were in iPhoto. Under El Capitan and iMovie 10.1.1, only photos in Photos are accessible, even though all photos converted from iPhotos to Photos, it won't work. There is no fix. Once we all upgraded to El Capitan, we were screwed...
