I dropped my phone briefly in water only the top of it got wet, immediately dried it. Everything works ok but just keeps tripping out a bit...

Water and electronics don't mix. If you did not place the iPhone in rice or some other desiccant for a week before applying power after getting wet, you damage the electronic and it is now unrepairable. Your alternative now is to take it to Apple and purchase an out of warranty replacement for it.

Put it in a bag of dry rice for at least 5 days. Prepare to purchase an out of warranty phone. No matter how small or how long a phone was in water, it may not recover.

Added note, your prior posts were not up when I wrote this note. It may be too late to save your phone since you did not immediately turn it off. Try the rice but be prepared to get a new phone.

Every time I see one of these posts, especially phrased the way this is, I want to bring up the analogy of the high school kids making out in the back of a car, who are shocked several months later to find out she's pregnant... It doesn't matter how far in it went or how long it was there... the damage is done.

Really it doesn't matter very much if works or not. Once electronics gets wet, it will corrode and then it will stop working.
