Q: apple tv appears twice on remote app

I launch the "Remote" app on any of my iOS devices and my Living Room Apple TV appears twice,

They both seem to work, but unable to delete the extra one.  If I rename the Apple TV to "Kitchen"

it does change on my "Remote" app but I still have and extra one with the old name and they both work.

I have also restarted the apple TV and no lock, same issue.

Apple TV, 3

What kind of router do you have?

    Is it an AirPort?

AirPort and Apple TV have a Bonjour Sleep Proxy

I think the extra one is a 'ghost' in the sleep proxy and if you restart all the sleep proxies simultaneously, it will be gone.

Even if you don't have an AirPort / Time Capsule, it would be good to restart the router.

Not sure what you mean by restart all the sleep proxies.

I have 4 AppleTV's, I don't think they have a sleep proxy, at least I can't find one to turn off in the menu.

I do not have AirPort/Time Capsule, just a verizon router that has been restarted but no fix.

I am also running iTunes on a Mac Mini that has a check box for "Wake For Network Access".

Is this the culprit that needs to be unchecked then rechecked?

Un-Checked  "Wake For Access" on the MacMini and rebooted, then checked it back on, no change I still have to Living Room icons on my Remote App for the AppleTV.
