Q: iPhoto will not see all pic. on iPhone.

After having installed new hard disc in iMac, due to failure of the original installed, I have trouble with having iPhoto on the iMac to see photos on my iPhone which are older that October 2014. Pictures are visible on the iPhone, but iPhoto will not see them enabling me to transfer and secure them on the iMac. The iPhone is connected to the iMac with a cable to the USB port. Please support.

    iPhoto can only see photos that are in the camera roll.  Have the older photos been synced to your iPhone using iTunes? Then you cannot download them to iPhoto. Sync photos from your computer to your iOS device using iTunes - Apple Support

    • You can't reimport pictures synced from your computer to your device back to your computer. You can only import pictures taken by your device, or saved to it, from your device to your computer. If you need to retrieve synced photos from your device, email the photos from the device to yourself. Then download the photos from the emails to your computer.

     

    If the photos are in the Camera Roll, but iPhoto is still not showing them, try to download them by launchinh Image Capture. It can download from your iPhone to a folder,

     

    Another reason for only a few photos showing in iPhoto could be iCloud Photo Library.  If iCloud Photo Library has been enabled on your iPhone you can only import those photos, that have been downloaded to the iPhone, but not the photos in iCloud. If iCloud Photo Library is active, download from iCloud.
