Q: My air does not perform the display output as well it say it does.
I have a Samsung u28e590d (4k) display. The display is working fine but my macbook air does not perform as well as it say it does on the screen. The output signal should be 2560x1440 on this screen because of the macbook air graphic limit. The output signal is a 27 inch bad quality image from my macbook air (mid 2013) and my computer tells that the output is 2560x1440. I can't over-/underscale the screen because of settings does not allow me to.
I have tried to connect a older version of the macbook air with the same cable to the same display. This, one year older, version of macbook air performed in 2560x1440 and great display with no over-/undersscale problem.
What is the problem? Is it a software or hardware issue?
Cable: Displayport 1.2 to mini displayport 1.2 (great quality).
