Q: truncating iphone song?

Hello,

I have a song that lasts for about 1 minute that needs to play on infinite loop (they are natural weather songs that help my daughter to sleep at night).

However the last 5 seconds of the song fade out and are silent so it always seems like the song is stopping and starting - rather than being continuous (and therefore helping her get to sleep!).

On the computer via itunes (& 'get info->options') i can set the start and stop time of the song to be continuous.

however, this does not carry over to the ipad which is what my daughter can connect to the speaker in her room at night to play music.

does anyone have any ideas on how we can shorten the songs bought on her ipad?  thank you in advance for the help in making her sleep at night!!

    Hi MD1483,

One way you can get your 60-second song to repeat all night is to create a playlist in the Music app on your iPad; add the song once to the playlist, then set the playlist to repeat.

    Using the new Music app

    Create a playlist

You can create playlists to listen to or share with friends. If you don't see a Playlists tab, tap My Music, then tap Playlists at the top of the screen.

Under All Playlists, tap New at the right of the screen, above the list of playlists. Fill in details for your playlist, such as the title and description, then add songs. If you like, you can also add an image. When you're happy with your playlist, tap Done in the upper-right corner.

    Play your music

When you play a song, you see the Miniplayer at the bottom of the screen. You can keep browsing other titles to find the perfect next song.

Or you can tap or swipe up on the Miniplayer to see the Now Playing screen and controls. Tap the   in the upper-left corner or swipe down to close the Now Playing screen.

If you want to listen to an artist's entire collection of music that you've saved to your library, find the artist in My Music. To the right of the artist's name, tap  , then tap Add to Up Next. If you want to listen to all of an artist's songs even if you don't have their music in your library, ask Siri to play all of their songs.

    Shuffle or repeat your music

Tap   at the bottom of the Now Playing screen to shuffle the songs in a playlist or album. You can also ask Siri to shuffle your music.

Tap   once to play an entire playlist or album on repeat or twice to repeat one song.

Another option to explore down the road is to use the GarageBand application on your Mac to create your own "soundtrack" repeating one song or adding several songs to the project and then exporting the project as one continuous song.   Here's the GarageBand User Manual for when you are feeling adventurous.

    Have fun!
