there may be a fuse inside the case (haven't seen a repair guide showing one) it
may be something you could investigate after obtaining a replacement MagSafe.

While there may be an internal 'fuse' inside an Apple MagSafe power adapter, it is
not an easy task to take-apart to find this to be the case (or not). Get another first.
