Mainstage for live looping

Mainstage for live looping

hello, i'm interested in a program for live looping as garageband is not suited for live performance. I researched on the web and mainstage seems to be the best fit for me. However, is it possible to record several tracks on mainstage while playing live and then switch them On and Off during a live performance ? (Something similar to a hardware loop station such as Boss RC 300)

Thanks in helping me figure this thing out.

I have used Mainstage for live looping extensively and when it is working it does work well. I have used a combination of setups with a third party software called SooperLooper. It is highly customizable and can accomplish much. I wish there was a perfect method but I will say it is not always reliable or easy and I have spent hours and hours programming it. With all that said, it can be a very powerful setup going beyond what is possible in hardware.
