30gb video ipod mounts only in itunes but will not restore

I'm unable to restore my 30gb video ipod using itunes 11.4

Came up with a message to restore but wont

iPod classic, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Can you provide more details. For example, do you get an error message when you try to do a Restore? If so, what does it say specifically?

Why do you need to do a Restore? How is the Restore being initiated, in your case? Is iTunes prompting you to do a Restore?

Hi Kenichi

I have a message on the ipod saying I need to restore with itunes

I tunes is detecting a corrupted ipod is the message I get in itunes.

try to do a restore but nothing happens.

Try putting the iPod into Disk Mode

Putting iPod into Disk Mode - Apple Support

Run iTunes and connect the iPod. If iTunes picks it up, it may prompt you to do a Restore with a message about "recovery." Tell iTunes to proceed with the Restore.
