Q: Publishing Parameters into FCPX...IS THERE A WAY TO MAKE PUBLISHING PARAMETERS TO FCP EASIER THAN HAVING TO PUBLISH EACH SUB-PARAMETER? IS THERE A WAY TO "GLOBALLY PUBLISH" A WHOLE PROJECT OR AT LEAST INDIVIDUAL PARAMETERS?

Does it make sense to publish ALL parameters of a plugin?

I prefer to reduce the options, e.g. I'm rigging 'size' to alllow only a - in my eyes - 'useful' range; or create by rigging drop-down 'schemes', e.g. for color selections .....

    Anyhow...

'Major Parameters' like Transform or Fill or 3D can be published, just right-click aside the Reset arrow, and all 'sub menus' get published too .... can not imagine how to make publishing easier ....

btw: ALL CAPS means YELLING on boards...

be nice... what goes round, comes around ...

    you're welcome, don't worry...

but this part of the Apple board is a bit 'outer rim', very calm, slow paced, relaaaxed ..... never seen a Host or Mod here....

in the iPhone section perhaps, there you need all caps, flashing colors and blinking gifs to catch attention ... LOL!

What I am trying to do is modify a pre-existing motion template; when i duplicate the text effect or animation effect,  I can not seem to "publish" this new group in the same manner as the original group.

Is there a simple way to do this?

    I'd say no.

plus, I and others noticed 'flaws' when duplicating groups with published parameters.

So, you have to publish each parameter of this new group manually..., keep in mind: you can arrange how the parameters are listed in the Projects Inspector tab.... What's missing are 'design' elements, e.g. 'headlines' for groups, bold/italic,  or dividers.. been on the wishlist for a future vers. for quite a while...

… you try to modify a Motion template, or a 3rd party one?

'cause, some plugins are not made with M5 alone, but using the SDK for 'programming' plugins… then, you can not publish at all. (e.g. you have no access to the Mocha-engine in coremelts TrackX…)
