How to change a foreign iPod Touch language?

I bought a used iPod Touch 5th generation off eBay from Japan. During the setup I picked English (U.S.) as the language, but the rest of the setup was still in Japanese (so I'm not 100% sure what options I picked). Once the iPod was set up the language in the apps seems to be English, but on the home screen the names of the apps & some other random words are in Japanese. In the settings the region is United States & the language is English. The

Is there a way to change the langue so everything on the iPod shows up in English?
