I just got a 2nd generation I-Pod Shuffle that has 1.6 GB of storage. When I try to sync new songs to it, I can get only 71 songs because it says "OTHER" for the remaining space that is available. I don't know what that "OTHER" is. How do I remove that so I can sync more songs onto the Shuffle?

Since the iPod is new to you, you should give it a fresh start by doing a Restore. Select the iPod in iTunes (click its device button on horizontal bar) to show its settings screen in iTunes window. The Restore button is there.
This will erase the iPod, reinstall its software, and set it to default settings. If the iPod does not have a hardware problem, the "Other" portion should be very small after the Restore.
