Q: Sudden orientation failure

HI,

I have an iPhone 6 128gb which I bought on launch and I'm suddenly having problems with the motion sensing on the phone. When orientation lock is turned off my phone isn't noticing me turning my phone around and as a result not changing the screens orientation. I tried to recalibrate the sensors through the compass app but was unable to do so - and using the compass I saw that the sensors are completely out of whack (laying on a flat table shows as 23 degrees). I have tried both turning the phone on and off, and hard resetting but I still have this problem. Beginning to think there's not much I can do to fix this.

Any suggestions? Your help is greatly appreciated.

I understand that your iPhone's screen isn't rotating when orientation lock is disabled. The information outlined below can help restore your iPhone's sensors to a properly functioning state.
If you checked your settings and your screen still doesn't rotate when you use an app that should rotate (like the Calculator app), follow these steps:

Restart your iOS device.

If the screen still won't rotate, contact Apple Support.
If the screen doesn‘t rotate on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
