Apple ID hacked

MY Apple ID was hackeD. I noticed when sending iMessages, someone would reply other than the person I was writing to. I changed my password immediately. I have an iphone6 with ios 9.2.1 software. I wanted to use two-factor authentication but when I try to do this, i get the message this is not available for my Apple ID. Can anyone help me to get this enabled?

Howdy there Jah53,

It sounds like you are trying to enable Two Factor Authentication but are told that it is not currently available for your Apple ID. It looks like that feature is not available to everyone just yet:

Two-factor authentication for Apple ID

To ensure the best experience possible, we're rolling out two-factor authentication to users gradually. We’ll increase availability over time until we can offer the feature to everyone. You can learn more and see if two-factor authentication is available for your Apple ID.

You could use Two-Step verification in the mean time if you like:

I would also suggest taking a look at these troubleshooting steps from the following article:

If you can‘t send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Delete the conversation* that has the issue and start a new conversation:

  1. Open Messages and look at your list of conversations.
  2. Swipe from right to left on the conversation you want to delete. Then tap Delete.
  3. Open Messages, tap User uploaded file, and enter the phone number or email address of your contact or contacts.
  4. Write a new message and tap send.
