Mac says that my account already exists

Hello,


I am using an MacBook Air 13' with OS X El Capitan 10.11.3 and Mail does not work well.

I am not able to add my email account, because everytime I type my data in, it says that this particularly account already exists. But this account does not exist, because if I could use it.


Do you have any solutions for my problem?

First, please make sure you don't have two accounts with the same address. That could happen if one of them is an iCloud account.

From the Mail menu bar, please select

Window ▹ Connection Doctor

In the window that opens, look for an SMTP (outgoing mail) account with a name that matches the account you're trying to add. Double-click it. Another window will open, showing a list of all the outgoing mail accounts. Click the minus-sign button to delete the matching one, then click OK.

Try again to add the mail account. If you still can't, log out or restart the computer, then open the Internet Accounts preference pane and see whether the account is listed.
