i have had all of my cards removed from my apple pay for a unknow reason

All of my cards were removed from my apple pay? I called my bank and they didn't see that they deleated my card information. what would cuase this to happen on apple end? I am not upset if apple is protecting my information just wanted to know why this would happen?
