Q: other in storage
Hi. I have a mac book pro retina , 500 GB , OS X YOSEMITE version 10 .
MY storage is almost full although i deleted many things. it shows ( other ) is high. How can i know what other ? I'm afraid to delete system's files.
MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

There can be errors in using "About this Mac" to look at disk storage. Before doing anything else, check your volume usage by a different and more reliable method:
1) Highlight your hard drive icon and press SPACE to get this:
or
2) Right-click your hard drive icon and, in the resulting contextual menu, select "Get Info..." to see this:
Are the values of "Free" or "Available" in those two methods differetn from what "About this Mac" shows? If so, you need to reindex your Spotloght database:

Your report show only a 298GB hard drive but you say it should be 500GB. Is your drive partitioned??
