Update final cut

After a major issue, I had to do a complete re-installation of my Final Cut Studio. This leaves me with Final Cut Pro 6.0.1, which won't open many of my projects (including my wedding video). I get "File's format is too new for this version of the application." How can I install the necessary updates so these projects will open?

I tried to install from here

https://support.apple.com/downloads/final%2520cut

...but that forwards me to here

https://support.apple.com/kb/DL737?locale=en_US

...and installing that doesn't seem to do anything. I run the program and go through installation, it says it's done, and then I'm still opening 6.0.1.

Solutions?
