My macbook has an old apple id, since then I have changed my name and my iphone has the new apple id - How do I change my macbook's apple id name to match my iphone for home sharing?

Welcome to the Apple community.

You need to sign out of your old ID at system preferences > iCloud > Sign out and then sign back in with your new ID.

You will also need to do this for iTunes, App Store, Messages, FaceTime and Books.

To change your homesharing settings go to iTunes > File > Homesharing.

I just updated my Apple ID to a new email, and now my Mac won't let me sign out or enter a new Apple ID so the password works... It keeps asking for my old Apple ID's password which no longer exists. I was able to log into iTunes just fine though. Any thoughts?

This doesnt work for me. I get asked if I want to stop using iCloud and asks for a password for an Apple ID that no longer exists. Any thoughts?

Apple ID - If iCloud asks for the password to your previous Devices, but will work with computers

If you created a new Apple ID, rather than update your old address, you will need to use the old ID in iTunes and the App Store or you will lose access to your past purchases.

Please in March this year I got this fixed but for some reason when I waqnt to update app it keeps bring up old apple id which is my ex husbands. Your support centre helped me in march but know it is back to the same issue again. Please could someone help me with this

If the old ID was used to make the purchases, you will need to use it to update those purchases. Purchases can't be transferred to a new Apple ID.

Well that didn't work. iCloud doesn't recognise my old account details, only the new ones. Any better ideas that actually work?
