Permanently Deleting Apps from Itunes

Hi all,

I work at a school and am trying to 'clean up' an iPod cart that is used by our middle schoolers. The previous admin of the cart did not put any restrictions on the iPods and didn't log out of iTunes so students were able to add and delete apps whenever they felt like it. There are about 150+ apps that I want to delete and then I plan to use Apple Configurator to start fresh with the iPod cart.

I am using a MacBook, running OS X 10.11.3 and iTunes 12.3.2. My purchased/library screen doesn't look like any of the examples that I have seen and I have tried just about everything I can think of to permanently delete apps from iTunes but I have not been successful.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks :)

Are you trying to delete then so that the students can not access them? You can not permanently delete apps from iTunes. They are part of the purchase history that is associated with the Apple ID that was used to purchase those apps. You can hide the apps in iTunes, but not delete them permanently.
