Q: MIDI Server cannot be opened

Hello,

I've run into an issue where Audio MIDI Setup hangs on launching the MIDI window and after awhile pops up with "MIDI Server cannot be opened." There haven't been any new configurations to my MIDI setup. Garageband and Logic will not launch without the MIDI Server. Pro Tools, however, launches just fine.

I've tried reinstalling my 002 driver. I've updated to Yosemite (can't use it as it breaks compatibility with Pro Tools) and that worked for GarageBand and Logic Express. Unfortunately, I can't reinstall Lion now since the recovery partition is 10.11.

How can I reinstall Lion without purchasing it? It came with my machine.

MacBook Pro 13" Mid-2010

Mac OS: 10.7.5 (Lion)

Garageband 5.1

Logic Express 8.0.2

Pro Tools 9.0.6
