Q: "no name" showing in Contacts

On my Mac, I found a list of single name messages like "Ashley"   "Mary"   "Joan",  ect.  in my email.   They were all junk; they had headers like "your gmail is full"; but they took you to an ad site.  I deleted them all then ran virus and malware; everything seemed okay.

The next day I noticed these single names had shown up on my contact list on my iPhone. When I delete them, they come back as "no name" and I can't delete those.  There isn't any information attached to them; no email, no name, phone number, email addresses, ect.; just "no name" listed also at least one time, A-Z, in contact site. How can I get these off my contact list?  These show only on my iPhone, not on my Mac though I use iCloud for both.

    Hello there, nicoleanjolie.

It sounds like you're seeing iCloud Contacts on your iOS device that aren't showing on your Contacts app on your Mac. Some steps you might find useful for troubleshooting are found in the following Knowledge Base article:

Get help using iCloud Contacts, Calendars, or Reminders

Restart the Contacts, Calendar, or Reminders app

    1. Double-click the Home button to see your open apps.
    2. Find the app, the swipe up to close it.
    3. Press the Home button to return to your Home screen.
    4. Wait a minute, then open the app again.

Turn off iCloud Contacts, Calendar, or Reminders and turn it back on

    1. Tap Settings > iCloud.
    2. Turn off Contacts, Calendar, or Reminders.
    3. If you see your calendars or reminders on iCloud.com or any of your devices, you can choose Delete from My [device]. If not, choose Keep on My [device].
    4. Wait a few minutes, then turn on Contacts, Calendar, or Reminders again.

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Hold down the Sleep/Wake button, then drag the slider to power off. Turn your device back on.
