I've been told to let a battery discharge fully about once a month. An article on Microsoft.com confirms what I've been told, however nothing from Apple.com appears to support or deny this assessment so take it with a grain of salt.

no date on the article but it was written for windows 7 but applies to Windows 10, since "windows" doesn't make laptops and most of what makes a PC laptop battery is pretty much the same technology as an Apple battery I would think it should apply, but I'm not a battery scientist so simply IMHO.
Apple apparently states if you store your laptop for an extended period you should nether fully charge or discharge, nor should you charge it when the temperature is above 95F/35C

they recommend you keep your OS up-to-date.
however I don't see where it says it should be kept high (or low) or if Apple is intentionally being vague about their procedure, so now I'm more confused by this question that I was when I attempted an answer.
