Q: Fan running on MacBook Pro and draining battery
Hi,
I have a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013) running OS X 10.10.5 and since yesterday the fan started running fast and draining battery life considerably. I do not recall adding any new software or changing anything really.
Nothing is running now except Safari and even if it is off the battery starts running fast only a minute after starting the machine and will only stop when i shut down.
When I switch on and leave the laptop on just the login screen without logging in to any user it just takes a minute for the fan to start running fast. I fully charged the laptop and left it for 4 hours and then i switched on and it took just 5 minutes for the battery to start running fast again. The bottom part next to the screen is getting hot though.
I tried the SMC (i guess) reset with the left Shift+Crt+Alt+Power, but it did not solve the problem.
Any help please?
Thank you
MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10)
