How to put a link into the Dock

I have a MacBook Pro running El Capitan. How do I put a link to my iCloud into my Dock? Thanks!

The other item that may be directly helpful that crossed my mind, may be

to add a web link to iCloud in the Dock; such as the factory included one

that goes to Apple.com. Icons to personal folders, added web page links

and a few other things that won't stick alongside official installed app icons

can go in the section nearest the Trash, on that side of the division line.

You may be able to drag the URL from a web page window into the Dock

and so as a shortcut to visit iCloud.com, go there and drag the active URL

into the Dock nearest the Trash. Test to see if it works. Try alternatives.

For applications run from the Application folder, to stick, click on the App

icon when running, which appears in Dock + select options to keep it there.

My OS X Dock in a few different systems do well to have a folder of my own

making with Alias to several extra apps and other folders that I don't want in

the Dock singularly; this allows access & can also open the enclosing folder.

Items whose alias are in my Dock folder, when launched appear in the Dock

and then leave when the item is quit. In a smaller display where size of Dock

may be crowded, the folder idea is another option, & allows selective access.

The iCloud Drive may also find a way to be run from the Dock by icon; when

there is no internet access, or the source of the service isn't available, it will

just bounce or launch to say the service is unavailable, a standard notification.

Not sure if any of these suggestions really apply to the exact question; or

whether I've interpreted the question and given incorrect replies...

Anyway, I'm hopeful. Good luck in any case! 🙂

Given there are iCloud apps that could be linked by dragging them (once active in your Mac)

to the Dock for use, they'd only be useful if the iCloud account were left logged-in. Or perhaps

the iCloud Apps may appear in the Lauchpad, when available.

Since I've left my iCloud essentially untouched, and don't upload there due to internet bandwidth

speed and limited ceilings of use, the Apple Help - iCloud and the App Store may yield more clues.

Usually you can add a link to an application or a folder in the Dock by dragging it there.

Good luck! 🙂
