Q: Saving all attachments from iMessage
I have strongly considered upgrading from my iPhone 5 recently. For me to do so, I would like to have all of my images saved to my computer, including attachments from select iMessage conversations. I am aware of the method that involves selecting each individual attachment, however there over 1,000 attachments in this particular conversation that I would like to save. I was wondering if there was a less tedious way of saving these attachments. I would strongly prefer to avoid using any third party applications. My iPhone is using iOS 9.2.1 and, if it helps, my MacBook Pro is using Mac OS X Version 10.6.8. Thanks in advance.

Thanks and I wasn't thinking ahead when receiving all of the attachments; they've been over the span of many years.
And so my new phone would have the same operating system as my old phone (despite being different models), allowing for a seamless transition when applying the backup?
The new phone I believe won't have the latest update, you would need to manually update it.
there shouldn't be any issues using your backup, if there is update the new phone first and then you can use the backup.
