Q: OS X Server Web Homepage - modify

Hello,

We have a public facing OS X Server running profile manager for our MDM.  When anyone navigates to our servers homepage, they have the option to click on Profile Manager, Xcode, My Settings and Wiki.  Strangely though the most useful button (My Devices) isnt on there?!

Anyhow, I would like to hide / remove these buttons from the sites homepage.  I assume I could just create a new index file and set that to be the default page, but is there a neater, more official Apple way to modify this?

thanks.

On that page that you are referring to: Log in with an Admin User name. That will unlock the lock displayed on the right. To the left of that lock is a gear symbol, a plus sign and finally an icon for a pen. Click on the pen. That will enable the edit mode and you can now add, edit or delete contents on the page, including links to other pages etc.

I can see in the Server App a way of restricting which users can access the site, but it would be nice to know how/if  I can modify the existing page.

    Mmm Bosco,

Misunderstood you there, thought you were referring to the https default page. There it is easy.

On this one, you will have to edit or replace it with your own default design.

It's been a pleasure Bosco. If I remember correctly, this page has got some functionality but it mainly servers as a placeholder and the intention of the design is that you should replace this with a welcoming page of your own.

    Have fun with your Mac
